Tim Galton

“My paintings are typically autobiographical, the ideas for which stem from moments of personal significance or intriguing conversations I have had with people.”

Tim Galton was born in 1983 and started painting in oils directly from life at the age of eight. He grew up in North London and during his school and university years painted throughout holiday time, particularly en plein air. His further education was completed at Christ’s College, University of Cambridge, from where he holds a first class degree in Natural Sciences. He has exhibited and sold at numerous group shows including the Lynn Painter Stainers Prize (2016, 17 & 18), the annual exhibitions of the main societies at the Mall Galleries including the New English Art Club, the Royal Society of British Artists and the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, and at other venues such as Guildford House Gallery and Lyme Hall. He is the recipient of a number of prizes awarded at the Mall Galleries and his work can be found in private collections in Europe.
